GS1 Digital Link: The bridge between the physical product and its digital identity.
GS1 standards improve the efficiency, security and visibility of supply chains across physical and digital channels in 25 industries. Communicate in real time with every handler and node in the supply chain


The Web-enabled codes can communicate security and usage data. Or they can contain usage, installation, and disposal information that tracks an item throughout its life cycle. There are no limits to how these codes can be used and what information they can share.

Since GS1 Digital Link converts this globally accepted identification data into a web address, it is possible to communicate with such a code in a very flexible way. Using a customizable resolver, brands can route multiple scans of the same IDs to the most appropriate final destination. For example, a product may have a single QR code on the packaging, but a scan with a “warehouse application” will lead to a completely different end URL than a scan with a “consumer application”.Since GS1 Digital Link converts this globally accepted identification data into a web address, it is possible to communicate with such a code in a very flexible way. In addition, it allows real-time adjustments for different situations, such as in the case of a recall, where those endpoints can be adjusted appropriately to warn anyone working with a product not to consume it.
